Sustainable living is predicted to be a trend in the future, or maybe it will be faster than we can predict. It can be done when all of us take action to make the earth become green and safe for future generations. In textile industries we can see a wise material selection; some industries have tried to use organic cotton, recycled polyester, and other biodegradable materials. The fact you have known is; knit fabric is less consumed in yarn than woven fabric, with better production management we can also have an efficient energy cost.

Recycled polyester is obtained by melting down existing plastic and re-spinning it into new polyester fiber. To give an example, five water bottles yield enough fiber for one T-shirt. Even if some people think that recycled polyester is just polyester, it is still a waste of our earth! Yes, maybe that is right, but it would be better to make it as clothes for the wearer than sink it into the sea!

Knit fabric is popular in sportswear, because of elasticity and breathability. As you know, knit fabric basically has 2-ways stretch that come by default, and can be improved to 4-ways stretch by modification with spandex or elastane. Without a doubt, knit fabric is also good for breathability. Sportswear industry directly leads people to be more active and aware about healthy lifestyles. As you see, polyester and knit fabric can still be something useful, don’t give up and keep creative in the sustainable trend.
